The outrageous and overheated pre-Code thrills start with "The Crash," where pampered hausfrau Ruth Chatterton is the real power behind stockbroker husband George Brent's success, thanks to the insider information she wheedles from financier lover Henry Kolker. Once the market plunges, though, she grabs what's left of their holdings and flees to Australia...but escape won't come that easily. Then, Bebe Daniels is the "Registered Nurse" whose competence (and other attributes) gain the notice of hospital physicians Lyle Talbot and John Halliday, but whose dark secret has her keeping potential suitors at arms' length.
