After her grant was pulled, biomedical scientist Liz Ortecho (Jeanine Mason) had few options beyond returning to her New Mexico hometown. Her reconnection with deputy sheriff/high school crush Max Evans (Nathan Parsons) turns fateful when she learns that he--and other lifelong friends--are aliens descended from the survivors of the hushed-up 1947 UFO crash.
