Having discovered the infidelity of his wife (Betty Daussmond), a wealthy doctor (Sacha Guitry, who wrote and directed) alters his will...to name new heirs as well as chronicle the scope of his own illicit affairs. The explosions and maneuvers that follow once his family accidentally uncovers the document fuel "Indiscretions (Le Nouveau Testament)" (1936). Jacqueline Delubac, Christian Gérard also star. After having been abandoned by his spouse (Daussmond), a father (Guitry) rears his son (Paul Gérard) to distrust women--and finds himself reaping the consequences--in this adaptation of the Guitry play "My Father Was Right (Mon Pere Avait Raison)" (1936). Delubac, Gaston Dubosc also star. Having seduced a married woman (Delubac), an attorney (Guitry) braced for the premature return of her husband (Raimu)--and is stunned when the cuckold begs him to alibi for his own cheating--in "Let's Dream...(Faisons Un Reve...)" (1936). Arletty, Claude Dauphin also star. Lastly, Guitry assays multiple roles--including Louis XV and Napoleon III--in a costume farce that captivatingly chronicles the history of the Champs-Élysées through the centuries.
