Working off of the nonfiction book by Jacob Soboroff, documentarian Errol Morris crafted a sobering look at the first Trump administration's family separation policy for illegal immigrants. The back-room crafting of the controversial response and its problematic implementation, as told by officials who were involved, the tale of the program's ultimate shutdown after public outcry, and a dramatized offering of one impacted Guatemalan family's plight, are tellingly offered. 93 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English; Subtitles: English; theatrical trailers.
