Sherlock Holmes: The Archive Collection - Volume Two
The Great Detective made his cinematic debut in the silent short "Sherlock Holmes Baffled" (1900), as a vanishing burglar stymies the sleuth. Next, Douglas Fairbanks plays drug-happy detective Coke Ennyday in the short "The Mystery of the Leaping Fish" (1916); while Eille Norwood plays a more serious Holmes, tackling the "strangest case" he ever handled, in the short "The Devil's Foot" (1921), with Hubert Willis as Watson. This three-disc collection also includes a rare Spanish-subtitled print of "Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon"; episodes from the 1954 "Sherlock Holmes" TV series starring Ronald Howard and H. Marion Crawford; screen tests; TV commercials; an interview with Arthur Conan Doyle; and much more. 6 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English.
