Fans of Charlie Chaplin, Harry Langdon, Snub Pollard, and Charley Chase have plenty to smile about with this collection of nine vintage silent shorts! "Between Showers" (1914) features Chaplin in a comedy about a woman at the mercy of mashers; Chaplin and Mack Swain play piano movers, in "His Musical Career" (1914); an unemployed actor is tempted to steal, in "The Wrong Mr. Fox" (1917); Chase directs "Ship Ahoy" (1919), starring Chaplin impersonator Billy West; "Hold Your Breath" (1924) as Dorothy Devore climbs a tall building; "Motorboat Maniacs" (1924) cause chaos with a radio-controlled speedboat; Langdon murders music, in "Fiddlesticks" (1927); Mickey Rooney teaches sleuthing, in "Mickey the Detective" (1928); and Pollard punches up laughs as a boxer, in "Sock and Run" (1929). 157 min. total. Standard; Soundtrack: music score. Silent with music score.
