Fed up with her job at a smalltown drugstore soda counter, Peggy Evans (Lana Turner) heads off to New York City, leaving behind a note that makes everyone think she's committed suicide. She reinvents herself thanks to a sexy makeover and begins to pass herself off as missing, amnesiac heiress Carol Burden. But her boss (Robert Young) is in hot pursuit, out to prove his innocence after being blamed for her "death." Walter Brennan co-stars in this lighthearted seriocomedy. 94 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
