Walter Pidgeon stars in a twin bill of legal dramas. "Society Lawyer" features Pidgeon as a high-society Park Avenue attorney who agrees to represent his friend (Lee Bowman) when he's arrested for the murder of an ex-girlfriend. However, Pidgeon must launch his own investigation, with the help of a nightclub singer (Virginia Bruce) and a shady former client (Leo Carrillo). Then, Pidgeon's fight for justice is "Stronger Than Desire" when he again stars as a trial litigator in this remake of "Evelyn Prentice." Pidgeon vigorously defends a young woman (Ann Dvorak) accused of killing her husband (Bowman) at the behest of his wife (Bruce), not realizing that his spouse may be involved in the murder. 155 min. total on two discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
