Spider-Man: 8-Movie Collection
Spider-Man (2002)
A bite from a genetically altered arachnid turns timid high schooler Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) into a web-spinning wallcrawler who learns through tragedy to become a hero, in the hit screen rendition of Marvel Comics’ flagship character. Kirsten Dunst is Parker’s love interest Mary Jane Watson, and Willem Dafoe is scheming scientist Norman Osborne, who uses his technology to become the armored, bat-glider-riding Green Goblin. With Rosemary Harris, James Franco, J.K. Simmons; Sam Raimi directs. 121 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Two years after receiving his spider-powers, life hasn’t gotten any easier for college student/crimefighter Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire). With his grades slipping and his personal life at an all-time low, Parker hangs up his red and blue costume. But when New York is threatened by a new menace--tentacled terror Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina)--will Spidey return to save the day? Director Sam Raimi’s smash hit sequel also stars Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Rosemary Harris, J.K. Simmons. 128 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
As Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) has his hands full dealing with life in the public eye and the effects of an alien symbiote that has attached itself to him in the form of a sleek new costume, he must also contend with a former friend (James Franco) who’s adopted the mantle of the New Goblin, the granular goon the Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), and rival photographer Eddie Brock (Topher Grace), who joins with the alien to create the villainous Venom. Also stars Kirsten Dunst, J.K. Simmons, and Bryce Dallas Howard. 139 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Well-received reboot for the Marvel Comics screen franchise casts Andrew Garfield as gifted but troubled teenager Peter Parker, imbued with a spider’s abilities in the wake of a laboratory accident. Using his newfound powers to fight crime and probe the long-ago disappearance of his parents, he runs afoul of genetic researcher Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), whose self-experimentation leads to his becoming the monstrous Lizard. Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Sally Field, Martin Sheen also star. 136 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Marvel Comics’ web-slinging superhero returns in this exciting sequel. This time, Spidey (Andrew Garfield) goes up against the super-charged villain Electro (Jamie Foxx) and faces childhood pal Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan)--who is transformed into the hideous Green Goblin--all while trying to hold to a promise to keep the lovely Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) safe by staying away from her. With Sally Field, Campbell Scott, and Paul Giamatti as the Rhino. 141 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
After a stunning introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in "Captain America: Civil War," the wall-crawling hero takes center stage in this spectacular solo outing. While struggling with life as a teenager, Spider-Man (Tom Holland) takes on Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton), a former salvage company owner who uses scavenged alien tech to construct a powerful winged suit as he turns to a life of crime. With Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, and Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man. 133 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
A field trip to Europe with his classmates was supposed to provide Peter Parker (Tom Holland) with a well-earned respite from his superhero alter-ego of Spider-Man. But when he’s recruited by superspy Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Spidey is soon back on the job and teaming up with the "Mysterio"-us Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal)--apparently a hero from an alternate universe--for a dangerous mission that may not be what it appears. Zendaya, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei co-star in this fun-filled Marvel sequel. 129 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Outed as Spider-Man at the windup of "Far from Home," Peter Parker (Tom Holland) faces devastating repercussions for himself and his loved ones. Turning to Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for a mystic mindwipe on all who learned his identity, the consequences bring a host of alternate-reality Spider-foes like the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Dr. Octopus (Alfred Molina), and Electro (Jamie Foxx) to his plane--and Pete looks to surprising allies for the cleanup. Much-anticipated Spidey saga co-stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei. 148 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
