A small-town judge (Lionel Barrymore) has to juggle his re-election bid with the toils of his adolescent kids (Mickey Rooney, Cecilia Parker) in the first "Hardy Family" entry "A Family Affair" (1937). "Judge Hardy's Children" (1938) give the jurist (Lewis Stone) concerns as he visits Washington, D.C. Fay Holden, Ann Rutherford co-star.
