The Beastmaster (1982)
Follow the incredible journey of Dar (Marc Singer), a mighty warrior with the gift of communicating with animals, in this exciting sword-and-sorcery adventure. Joined by his beastly companions--an eagle, a black tiger, and ferrets Kodo and Podo--Dar encounters bat men, evil witches, and other menaces as he sets out for revenge against the sinister high priest (Rip Torn) who had his entire village slaughtered. With Tanya Roberts, John Amos. 118 min. C/Rtg: PG
Beastmaster 2: Through The Portal Of Time (1991)
Technically, it’s a dimensional portal that brings Dar (Marc Singer) and the menagerie of animals he can converse with to 1990s Los Angeles, in this offbeat sequel to the 1982 fantasy fave. Dar teams up with California girl Jackie Trent (Kari Wuhrer) to prevent his evil half-brother Arklon (Wings Hauser) and sinister sorceress Lyranna (Sarah Douglas) from bringing a deadly bomb back to their world. With James Avery, Robert Z'Dar. 107 min. C/Rtg: PG-13
Beastmaster III: The Eye Of Braxus (1996)
Dar (Marc Singer) and his younger half-brother King Tal (Casper Van Dien) each possess half of a magical amulet that can grant immense power to anyone who wields it. And when Tal is captured by ruthless sorcerer Lord Agon (David Warner), it’s up to the Beastmaster and his allies—animals and humans alike—to save the day. Made-for-TV third entry in the fantasy/action series also stars Tony Todd, Sandra Hess, and Lesley-Anne Down. 92 min. C/Rtg: PG
