A fine early example of "spaghetti western" action, this frontier drama stars Lee Van Cleef as a sheriff-turned-bounty hunter hired to track down Mexican peasant Tomas Milian, accused of raping and killing a young girl. As the wily Milian, who insists he's innocent of the charges, continually escapes from Van Cleef's clutches, the lawman starts to wonder if his quarry is telling the truth.
