When disgraced mariner Jim Newman (Hobart Bosworth) signed on with a cargo ship, he had no idea it was captained by Angus Swope (Walter James), the man who sullied his reputation and took his family. Finding that his crew mates were largely shanghaied--and casually abused by Swope and his sadistic first mate (Fred Kohler)--Newman sees an opportunity to foment mutiny and gain revenge.
