Boris Karloff is an ailing scientist who gets abducted by a gang of thieves who want to get their hands on his latest invention: a device that neutralizes burglar alarms, in "Night Key" (1937). Jean Rogers co-stars. The bloody reign of King Richard III is chronicled in "Tower of London" (1939), with Basil Rathbone as the crippled monarch who eliminates all rivals with the help of bald, clubfooted executioner Karloff. A young Vincent Price also stars. Based on a Robert Louis Stevenson story, "The Strange Door" (1951) stars Charles Laughton as a 17th-century nobleman who imprisons his brother in a dungeon after he marries Laughton's true love. Karloff co-stars as Laughton's reluctant henchman. And, "The Black Castle" (1952) follows an English aristocrat who vows revenge against the 18th-century Austrian count who murdered two ofis friends. Karloff and Lon Chaney, Jr. star. Also includes "The Climax." 7 hrs. total on three discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English (SDH), French.
