River Lady (1948)
Yvonne De Carlo shines in this rousing adventure as Sequin, the operator of a profitable gambling riverboat on the Mississippi. After falling for a handsome logger (Rod Cameron) who doesn’t return her affections, she tries to buy his love by purchasing a local sawmill and hiring him as its manager. Burnett novel "Adobe Walls," this exciting western drama stars Charlton Heston as Ed Bannon, a militant cavalry scout who senses trouble coming from renegade Apache warrior Toriano (Jack Palance) after a peace agreement has been negotiated with the tribe. Removed from his post for stirring up paranoia among his men, Bannon soon faces Toriano mano-a-mano when his fears are proven correct and revolution threatens the settlers.
