Orgasmo (1969)
Making a new, if lonely, existence in an Italian villa, wealthy widow Kathryn West (Carroll Baker) found a passionate affair after handsome drifter Peter Donovan (Lou Castel) came knocking. Once insinuated into the household, however, he introduced her to his free-spirited "sister" Eva (Colette Descombes)...and what started as a passionate troika devolved into terror as they rendered her a virtual prisoner in her own home. Baker's first giallo for Umberto Lenzi co-stars Tino Carraro, Lilla Brignone. AKA: "Paranoia." 91 min. In Italian with English subtitles. C/Rtg: X
So Sweet...So Perverse (1969)
Wealthy, married Parisian Jean Reynaud (Jean-Louis Trintignant) felt compelled to play the white knight after overhearing the abuse that Nicole Perrier (Carroll Baker) was enduring at the hands of her brutish boyfriend (Horst Frank) in the neighboring apartment. The solicitous overture leads to a torrid affair...and a series of shocking twists when their liaison's revealed as part of a murder for hire scheme. Crackling Giallo from Umberto Lenzi co-stars Erika Blanc, Helga Liné. 92 min. In Italian with English subtitles. C/Rtg: NR
A Quiet Place to Kill (1970)
After suffering injuries in a crash, race car driver Helen (Carroll Baker) got an odd offer for recuperation--an invite to the estate of her ex-husband Maurice (Jean Sorel), courtesy of his new wife Constance (Anna Proclemer). The ensuing girl talk revealed a mutual contempt for Maurice, and fostered a heinous plan to murder him at sea...but the scheme winds up hitting a most unanticipated wall. Umberto Lenzi's gripping giallo co-stars Luis Dávila, Alberto Dalbés, Marina Coffa. AKA: "Paranoia." 94 min. In Italian with English subtitles. C/Rtg: NR
Knife of Ice (1972)
Mute since the childhood train accident that claimed her parents' lives, Martha Caldwell (Carroll Baker) got a visit at her Pyrenees home from vocalist cousin Jenny Ascot (Ida Galli). After Jenny's slain in the middle of the night, the constabulary's sure the case is linked to a murder that had occurred hours before...but as suspects are rousted, circumstances lead to a stunning reveal. Baker's fourth and final giallo collaboration with Umberto Lenzi co-stars Alan Scott, George Rigaud, Franco Fantasia. 91 min. In Italian with English subtitles. C/Rtg: NR
