A young farmer (Kurt Fischer-Fehling) looking for domestic help chooses a willful single mother (Hansi Knoteck), but their mutual attraction isn't lost on his angry fiancée (Ellen Frank), in Douglas Sirk's adaptation of the Selma Lagerlöf novel "The Girl from the Marsh Croft."
