The Mummy (1932)
One of the all-time classic chillers, with Boris Karloff playing the title role of 3,700-year-old Egyptian high priest Imhotep, condemned and buried alive for sacrilege by his people. Brought back to life when an archeological dig uncovers his tomb and a scroll that can revive the dead, a resurrected Imhotep attempts to reunite with the reincarnation of his lost love (Zita Johann). David Manners, Arthur Byron, Edward Van Sloan, Bramwell Fletcher co-star. 75 min. BW/Rtg: NR
The Mummy's Hand (1940)
The first entry in Universal's revived (no pun intended) "Mummy" series features Western star Tom Tyler as the bandaged Kharis, who sips a little tana-leaf tea and is sent to kill the defilers of an Egyptian tomb. George Zucco co-stars as the priest who brings Kharis to life, and Peggy Moran is the reincarnation of his long-lost love. 67 min. BW/Rtg: NR
The Mummy's Tomb (1942)
Lon Chaney, Jr. gets all wrapped up in the role of Kharis, the ancient mummy taken to America by an Egyptian high priest to wreak vengeance on the archeologists who disturbed his 4,000-year sleep. While in the States, the Mummy finds himself attracted to the archeologist's pretty girlfriend. Dick Foran, Turhan Bey, Elyse Knox also star. 61 min. BW/Rtg: NR
The Mummy's Curse (1944)
After being retrieved from their quicksand tomb from the third movie, Kharis the Mummy (Lon Chaney, Jr.) and his princess (Virginia Christine) are taken to Louisiana in order to be studied by scientists. Soon after their arrival, the creepy couple break out, causing horror in the bayou. Peter Coe and Dennis Moore co-star. 62 min. BW/Rtg: NR
The Mummy's Ghost (1944)
Finding the reincarnation of his ancient priestess in the form of a college student in New England, Lon Chaney, Jr.'s mummy goes on a rampage, trying to return her to her final resting place. John Carradine, George Zucco, and Ramsay Ames also star in this terror favorite from Universal. 60 min. BW/Rtg: NR
