Co-written and directed by Robert Zemeckis, "The Polar Express" is a heartwarming computer-animated holiday tale, based on Chris Van Allsburg's book, centers on a young boy whose belief in Santa Claus is beginning to waver. Lying awake on Christmas Eve, he hears the rumble of a locomotive outside his home. Boarding the train with a host of other children, he embarks on a thrilling adventure bound for the North Pole. Tom Hanks, Michael Jeter, Nona Gaye, Eddie Deezen, and Peter Scolari provide live-action performances that were later digitized. Then, from high atop Mt. Crumpet, the nasty Grinch hatches a scheme to take away Christmas from the good folk in Whoville, but he soon gets a dose of the holiday spirit himself. Boris Karloff narrates and supplies the Grinch's voice in Chuck Jones' beloved animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss tale, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Songs include "Welcome Christmas," "Trim Up the Tree," and "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" (sung by Thurl Ravenscroft). 126 min. total.
