First, "The Smurfs" is a live-action/animated film starring Belgian cartoonist Peyo's merry blue creatures. A New York advertising man (Neil Patrick Harris) facing a big deadline and imminent parenthood suddenly finds himself the guardian of Clumsy Smurf (voiced by Anton Yelchin), Smurfette (voiced by Katy Perry), Papa Smurf (voiced by Jonathan Winters), and their other smurfy pals after they're chased away from home by the evil Gargamel (Hank Azaria). With Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara. And, they're blue, they're tiny, and they're back, in "The Smurfs 2," a smurftastic sequel that blends live action and animation. When sinister sorcerer Gargamel (Azaria) abducts Smurfette (voiced by Perry) as part of a plan to get the formula for creating Smurfs, Papa Smurf (voiced by Winters) and his buddies travel to Paris where they and human pal Patrick (Neil Patrick Harris) must try to stop Gargamel and his new creation, Vexy (voiced by Christina Ricci).
