The rags-to-riches saga of 19th-century New York tycoon Jim Fisk (Edward Arnold) is told in this lively real-life drama. Following Fisk's pre-Civil War scam involving soap bars to his infamous involvement in the "Black Friday" financial panic of 1869, this compelling historical burlesque also covers Fisk's complicated romance with Josie Mansfield (Frances Farmer). Cary Grant (as partner-in-crime Nicholas Boyd), Jack Oakie co-star. 109 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
