Times Square Playboy / Don't Bet on Blondes / The Woman From Monte Carlo
A popular leading man of the Depression-era cinema, Warren William shines in this triple feature. William plays a lieutenant on a French ship who hides his commander's philandering wife on the vessel while it's attacked, in the drama "The Woman from Monte Carlo" (1932). When an investigation is launched into the commander's culpability, the wife must admit her adultery to save her husband. Lil Dagover and Walter Huston co-star. Next, William plays a con man who orchestrates an insurance racket that involves writing a policy for a father to ensure that his daughter doesn't get married, in the comedy "Don't Bet on Blondes" (1935). However, what will happen when William falls for the girl? Guy Kibbee, Claire Dodd, and Errol Flynn co-star. Then, Warren stars in "Times Square Playboy" (1936) as a groom-to-be who wants his bumpkinish best friend (Gene Lockhart) to be his best man. But Lockhart believes William's girl (June Travis) to be a golddigger and tries at every turn to sabotage the relationship. 191 min. total on three discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; theatrical trailers.
