Highly respected U.S. Army general and diplomat Melville "Ironpants" Goodwin (Kirk Douglas) is appointed to an atomic energy committee, much to the consternation of powerful publishing mogul Dottie Peale (Susan Hayward), who supported his civilian opponent. Dottie launches a smear campaign to discredit old Ironpants, but can she bring him down before she falls in love with him? Offbeat romantic comedy, originally intended for Bogart and Bacall, also stars Jim Backus, Paul Stewart. 100 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
