Mixing suspense, kinky eroticism, and Pirandello-like surrealism, Alain Robbe-Grillet's thriller-within-a-film finds him and his wife on board the title Paris-to-Antwerp train. The director concocts a story in which a drug smuggler (Jean Louis-Trintignant) is also on board and becomes involved with a fellow passenger (Marie-France Pisier), whose role in the tale changes as Robbe-Grillet changes the plot. 94 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: French; Subtitles: English; interviews; trailers. In French with English subtitles.
