A young hitch-hiker’s death is written off as suicide, but a determined cop (Robert Douglas) isn’t buying. His pursuit of the truth leads to a tense desert showdown with a gangster (Robert Alda) and his hoods, in "Homicide." Helen Westcott, Monte Blue co-star. Then, when he refuses to lay off his journalistic crusade against a racketeer (Bruce Bennett), a managing editor (Wayne Morris) finds himself busted down to lonelyhearts columnist. The demeaning detail, though, leads him to the means of breaking the mob, and he needs a colleague's (Janis Paige) help to bring it off, in "The House Across the Street."
