During the Civil War, Union army Capt. John Hayes (Randolph Scott) ventures deep into Confederate territory to carry out a dangerous assignment to create a safe route of passage to California for stagecoaches filled with gold. Complicating matters is former friend and colleague Clay Putnam (Andrew Duggan), who'd rather keep the gold in Dixieland to assist the rebel cause. With Michael Dante, Virginia Mayo, Karen Steele, Michael Pate; directed by Budd Boetticher. 72 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
