Wheeler and Woolsey Double Feature:Peach O'Reno / Girl Crazy
It's wild pre-Code zaniness with the comedy team of Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey. First, the duo plays unscrupulous divorce lawyers who use money from their clients to fund their law office-turned-casino at night in "Peach O'Reno." But, what will happen when they represent opposite sides of the same case while another victim of their operation tries to kill them? Dorothy Lee and Mitchell Harris co-star. Then, in "Girl Crazy," Wheeler and Woolsey adapt the Gershwin play to their own antics by helping playboy Eddie Quillan open a dude ranch. However, the boys run afoul of a local kingpin running for sheriff who doesn't like their operation. Will the threat of violence deter Wheeler's bid to end their troubles by also campaigning for sheriff? Mitzi Green and Kitty Kelly co-star. 137 min. total on two discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
