When a career-minded, Far East-stationed doctor (Louis Calhern) is neglectful of his ex-nurse spouse (Doris Kenyon), she finds that a roguish playboy (William Powell) might be much more attentive, in "The Road to Singapore" (1931). Marian Marsh, Alison Skipworth co-star. A celebrated promoter (Powell) is recruited to help launch an artificial rubber-making concern, but isn't ready for the bounce that fate provides, in the comedy "High Pressure" (1932). Evelyn Brent, Frank McHugh, Guy Kibbee co-star. A disgraced diplomat (Powell) is reduced to working for a sleazy NYC PI agency, and finds himself falling for the socialite (Margaret Lindsay) he's been paid to frame, in "Private Detective 62" (1933). Ruth Donnelly, Gordon Westcott co-star. In 1920s Dublin, a soldier of fortune (Powell) makes a play for a married ex (Edna Best), and makes a stunning choice when her British officer husband (Colin Clive) is captured by Irish freedom fighters, in "The Key" (1934). Donald Crisp, Hobart Cavanaugh co-star. 4 2/3 hrs. total on four discs. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
