Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra With Yacub Addy and Odadaa!: Congo Square
(2007)
Trumpet player Wynton Marsalis touches his New Orleans roots in this magnificent concert staged at the Montreal Jazz Festival. Marsalis is joined onstage by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and Odadaa!, the African percussion ensemble led by Yacub Addy. Jazz, blues, Dixieland, swing, and funk all blend together to honor the market outside the French Quarter where, during the 18th and 19th centuries, blacks were free to play their own music. 120 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English.
