A quarter-century before, two South African boyhood pals─a white Afrikaaner and a black Zulu─had their friendship sundered by a racist incident. Time finds the Afrikaaner (Leon Schuster) a divorced, cash-strapped farmer with an adoptive black daughter, and the Zulu (John Matshikiza) being deported home from the U.S. for one car theft too many.
